Boston Bruins relieve Dave Lewis of his head coaching duties

Marc Habscheid is also out as associate coach. The Bruins say both will be re-assigned to other positions within the club. In his lone season as head coach, Lewis guided the team to a 35-41-6 record.

Boston missed the playoffs after finishing 13th in the Eastern Conference standings.

Habscheid is a former Canadian national men's team coach.
