Boutin named AHL goalie of month; Sterling takes rookie honours

Boutin, a 21-year-old from Granby, Que., went 5-1-1 in nine appearances with a 1.77 goals-against average, a .942 save percentage and one shutout.

His efforts helped push the Falcons into a tie for second in the Atlantic Division.

Sterling, 22, bagged the rookie prize for the second straight month after scoring 16 goals with five assists in 14 games. His hot month included a nine-game goal-scoring streak from Dec. 12-29.
