Brad Richards sends Stars past Lightning 4-3 in shootout

DALLAS - Brad Richards converted in the third round of the shootout after scoring a goal in regulation to lift the Dallas Stars to a 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday night in the pre-season opener for both teams.

Stars rookie goalie Tyler Beskorowany stopped Martins Karsums in the third round to seal the win.

Blair Jones' rebound put Tampa Bay in front 3-2 at 5:55 of the third period.

James Neal's goal at 16:46 of the period off a setup by Richards drew Dallas even at 3.
