Brandon Straub scores to help Grand Rapids Griffins edge Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1

HAMILTON - Brandon Straub scored the game winner as the Grand Rapids Griffins edged the Hamilton Bulldogs 2-1 in the American Hockey League on Sunday.

Francis Pare scored in the first for Grand Rapids, who improved to 8-4-3.

Yannick Weber pulled the Bulldogs (8-3-3) even on the power play at 1:31 in the third, but Straub's goal at 7:11 regained the Griffins' lead.

Thomas McCollum made 21 saves for Grand Rapids, while at the other end Curtis Sanford stopped 26 shots.
