Bruins put nine-game home streak on line vs. Lightning

BOSTON (Ticker) -- After a torrid month of November, the Boston

Bruins are enjoying more success in December.

Boston looks to extend its home winning streak to 10 games when

it hosts the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday.

The Bruins went 11-1-1 in November and have started the new

month with consecutive road victories at Tampa Bay and at the

Florida Panthers.

Manny Fernandez made 27 saves as Boston blanked Florida, 4-0, on

Saturday. Phil Kessel tallied for the fifth straight game and

now has nine goals in his last nine contests.

Tampa Bay is desperate for a victory and comes in on a

seven-game losing streak (0-5-2).

The Lightning fell to the Buffalo Sabres, 4-3, on Saturday and

are 1-8-4 in their last 13 games. Tampa Bay is 1-5-4 under

interim coach Rick Tocchet.

Boston has not lost at home since a 4-2 setback to Toronto on

October 23. It has outscored opponents, 46-18, during the

winning streak.
