Bulldogs eliminate Moose with 3-2 OT win, advance to Western Conference final

Hamilton will now play the Chicago Wolves in the Western Conference final starting Friday night. Manlow brought the puck into the Moose zone and snapped a wrist shot past Wade Flaherty.

Corey Locke also scored for the Bulldogs, while Brad Moran and Brandon Reid replied for the Moose.

Carey Price was stellar in net for the Bulldogs making 40 saves, while Flaherty stopped 22 of 25 shots.

Manitoba wasted little time getting on the scoreboard in the opening period as Moran scored his fifth goal of the playoffs just 1:32 in. Jason Jaffray battled hard behind the Hamilton net, eventually getting the puck to Moran out front who snapped a quick wrist shot past Price. In a period dominated by Manitoba, shots were 13-4 in favour of the Moose.

The second period played out much like the first as Manitoba's offence controlled the play. Awarded a 5-on-3 power play with just over two minutes into the period, the Moose doubled their lead. Reid scored his second goal in as many games as he blasted a slap shot past Price from just over the blue-line.

Both goaltenders played well in the period with Manitoba outshooting Hamilton 15-12.

Hamilton cut the Manitoba lead to 2-1 at the 11:11 mark of the final period as Locke's slap shot found the back of the net on the power play.

Less than three minutes later the Bulldogs struck again as Flaherty deflected a rebound off a point shot right to Manlow. He fired it in over Flaherty's right shoulder for his third goal of the post-season.

Manitoba outshot Hamilton 11-6, but they couldn't avoid overtime.

Overall Manitoba outshot Hamilton 42-25.
