Calgary Flames recall defenceman Derek Smith from Abbotsford Heat

CALGARY - Defenceman Derek Smith was recalled to the Calgary Flames on Saturday from their American Hockey League affiliate.

The 29-year-old from Belleville, Ont., played one game with the AHL's Abbotsford Heat this season before getting called up.

Smith has two goals, 11 assists and a plus-22 rating in 80 NHL games with the Flames and Ottawa Senators.
