Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov returns to the ice

Montreal defenseman Andrei Markov returned to skate with the team this week and according to French sports network RDS, could return to the lineup by New Year's if everything goes as planned.

The Russian defender tore tendons in his ankle during the first game of this season colliding with Carey Price.

He took to the ice twice this week after originally being expected to be out until February, making him questionable for the Olympics.
