Canadiens recall centre Grabovski as Hossa trade rumours heat up

MONTREAL - Centre Mikhail Grabovski, who has been mentioned in trade rumours involving Atlanta forward Marian Hossa, was recalled by the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the AHL.

Grabovski, 24, has eight goals and 12 assists in only 12 games with Hamilton this season. He missed 25 games this season with an ankle injury. In 12 games for the Canadiens this season, he had one goal and one assist.

Grabovski has been hot of late, with eight goals in his last seven games. He was named AHL player of the week for the week ending Feb. 17.

The Canadiens said Grabovski will be available for their game Tuesday night against Atlanta.

Montreal is believed to be pushing hard to land the high-scoring Hossa. One rumour has Grabovski, centre Maxim Lapierre and winger Michael Ryder going to the Thrashers for the Slovak right winger.
