Canucks looking to end slide vs. Wild

Minnesota (24-21-3) at Vancouver (22-20-7), 10:00 pm EST

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- Even with All-Star

goaltender Roberto Luongo back in the fold, the Vancouver

Canucks are still struggling.

The Canucks will hope to snap a season-long, seven-game losing

streak when they host the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.

Vancouver is 0-5-2 since winning in Mats Sundin's debut on

January 7. The Canucks have also lost eight home contests in a

row, failing to win at GM Place in over a month.

Luongo has started the last four games since missing eight weeks

with a groin injury, but he has yet to get Vancouver back into

the win column. He made 33 saves during Wednesday's 5-3 loss to

the Nashville Predators.

The 29-year-old Luongo has posted an 11-7-4 record with a 2.45

goals-against average and five shutouts this season.

The Wild are coming off a 3-1 setback to the Edmonton Oilers on

Friday.

Niklas Backstrom had not lost to the Oilers in 12 career games

before surrendering three goals in 23 minutes before being

replaced by Josh Harding, who stopped the 17 shots he faced.
