Canucks pick up forward Jeff Cowan on waivers from L.A. Kings

Cowan, 30, played 21 games this season with the Los Angeles Kings, recording two assists and 32 penalty minutes. In 325 career NHL games, he has 40 goals, 30 assists and 492 penalty minutes.

The six-foot-two, 210-pound Toronto native has also played for the Calgary Flames and Atlanta Thrashers over his seven-year NHL career.

A roster spot was available after the Canucks re-assigned defenceman Yannick Tremblay on Friday to the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
