ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals have set their roster for the start of the regular season.

The Capitals recalled winger Boyd Kane from the Hershey Bears of the AHL on Wednesday and assigned goaltender Michal Neuvirth to the Bears.

The team lost an expected contributor when left wing Chris Bourque was claimed on waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Right wing Eric Fehr and left wing Tomas Fleischmann will open the season on injured reserve.

The Capitals open the season Thursday at Boston.
