Carolina Hurricanes activate defenceman Seidenberg from injured reserve

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Carolina Hurricanes activated defenceman Dennis Seidenberg from injured reserve Wednesday after he missed four games with a leg injury.

The Hurricanes also placed defenceman Anton Babchuk on injured reserve after he injured an elbow over the weekend against Washington.

Seidenberg, 27, leads the team's defencemen and ranks fifth on the team with 13 points.

Carolina begins a two-game road trip Thursday at Philadelphia.
