Carolina Hurricanes activate Ladd and place Cole on injured reserve

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Carolina Hurricanes activated forward Andrew Ladd from injured reserve on Friday.

Ladd, 21, missed 16 games after suffering an ankle injury on Oct. 6 at Washington. He has one goal in three games this season.

The Hurricanes also placed forward Erik Cole on the injured reserve list retroactive to Tuesday. Cole, 29, injured his neck during a 4-3 win over Florida last Monday.

Cole, who has 12 points (3-9) in 14 games this season, will be eligible to return to the lineup on Wednesday against Philadelphia.
