Carolina sends goaltender Peters, forwards Boychuk, Goertzen to Albany of AHL

The Carolina Hurricanes have sent forwards Zach Boychuk and Steven Goertzen along with goaltender Justin Peters to Albany of the American Hockey league.

Team president Jim Rutherford announced the moves Sunday.

The 23-year-old Peters earned victories against the new York Islanders and New Jersey Devils in his first two NHL starts, with a .950 save percentage.

Boychuk scored his first NHL goal on Saturday against the Devils' Martin Brodeur after being recalled from Albany, while Goertzen played seven games in his stint with Carolina.
