    HAMILTON, Ont. - Cedrick Desjardins made 26 saves as the Hamilton Bulldogs beat the Lake Erie Monsters 3-1 in American Hockey League play Friday.

    Desjardins only faced 13 shots through the first two periods before his shutout bid was broken 12 seconds into the third by Ryan Stoa's power-play goal.

    Desjardin responded with a strong effort, stopping 14 shots in the third to perserve the win.

    Ben Maxwell and Brock Trotter each scored in the second period for Hamilton (29-9-5), and Mathieu Darche added an empty-net goal in the third.

    Tyler Weiman stopped 29 shots for the Monsters (16-19-4).
