Chicago’s Patrick Kane goes upstairs with remarkable backhand goal

Patrick Kane was at it again on Saturday night, scoring one of the prettiest backhand goals we may see all season. The goal was Kane’s 14th of the season and 10th in the past 14 games.

Chicago winger Patrick Kane has some of the best hands in the league and he showcased his skills Saturday night as the Blackhawks took on the New York Islanders.

With the score tied at one in the third period, Kane picked up a stretch pass from teammate Brandon Saad, broke in on Islanders netminder Jaroslav Halak, and buried a backhand that had no business going in:

That’s almost unfair. There was the tiniest of windows for Kane to settle the puck and find a place to put it past Halak, yet somehow one half of Chicago’s dynamic duo was able to bury the backhand.

The goal was Kane’s 10th in the last 14 games and 18th point over that span, as the 26-year-old remains on pace to have the best goal scoring season of his career. His play over the course of the season has been a large part of the Blackhawks success and Kane’s scoring outburst was a large part of the Blackhawks eight game win streak.

That streak, however, ended on Saturday night as Kane’s goal was followed up by two goals in 51 seconds for the Islanders, as they went on to a 3-2 victory.
