The NHL star learned the skills and developed the determination to become a winner in this Northern Ontario community. The six-foot-six defenceman helped Anaheim win the championship and each player is getting a day with the Stanley Cup.
Festivities begin at 1 p.m. at the city's arena, said recreation director Jennifer Francis. When the trophy arrives in the Northern Ontario community at about 2 p.m., Pronger plans to take it to the Dryden Regional Health Centre to visit patients. He will then be paraded through the city to the arena where presentations and speeches are planned.
"People will be able to get pictures with Chris and the Cup after that," Francis said, adding local businesses are encouraged to put up signs congratulating Pronger on the Ducks' triumph.
