Columbus Blue Jackets add goalie Allen York on emergency recall to back up Mason

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets have added goaltender Allen York to the roster on emergency recall from their American Hockey League affiliate in Springfield, Mass.

General manager Scott Howson announced the move on Thursday.

The winless Blue Jackets needed a backup for Steve Mason after the No. 2 (Mark Dekanich) and No. 3 (Curtis Sanford) were both injured.

The 21-year-old York, a former netminder for RPI, is 1-0-0 with a 2.97 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in two games with Springfield this season.
