Brad Marchand took a leave of absence from the Florida Panthers following the death of his longtime family friend's daughter, Selah, who had cancer.
While his friend, J.P. MacCallum, was with his family, Marchand filled in for him behind the bench of the U-18 March & Mill Company Hunters.
As Marchand said in an interview with High Button Sports, a beautiful life was tragically lost, and we send our condolences to Selah's family and loved ones. While that should be the focus, Marchand deserves credit for being there for his longtime friend and community during a very difficult time.
