Friday will mark one year since Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew Gaudreau were struck and killed on Aug. 29, 2024, by an alleged drunk driver.
The Athletic's Peter Baugh wrote an impactful feature on what the past year's been like for the Gaudreau family.
"Through it all, (father Guy Gaudreau) has been proud of his family’s efforts to keep the boys’ memories alive," Baugh wrote. 'Of course, he adds, 'I'd rather have them back.' Voice just above a whisper, he continues, reminding himself of the cruel reality. 'I can’t have them back.' "
