    I think Drew Shore and Ryan Kennedy make great points in saying if the kid wants to play, then they can play, but there are benefits to trying out different sports, developing different skills, using different muscles, etc.

    John Tavares comes to mind for me.

    Tavares, who's a nephew of a box lacrosse legend also named John Tavares, was a talented lacrosse player as well growing up. He has another uncle, Peter, who was once teammates with uncle John, and yet another uncle, Danny, introduced him to the game. Lacrosse helps develop hand-eye co-ordination, agility, physicality and more.
