Boston Bruins GM Don Sweeney told reporters at the team's annual golf tournament that they're starting the season without naming a captain.
"We've got a leadership group that's been meeting amongst themselves, and I think eventually, someone will emerge as the guy that should be the next captain," Sweeney said. "It comes with a lot of responsibility, so I'd like to see a little more organic, natural progression of it."
Do you agree with Sweeney, or is there a player who already looks ready to wear the 'C' of the Original Six team?
To me, this feels like they're waiting to see whether David Pastrnak or Charlie McAvoy really takes over this season and impresses not only new coach Marco Sturm but the management and the fans. But they could've named Pastrnak the captain, and I wouldn't have doubted the choice for a second. What do you think?
