Corazzini scores shootout winner as Grand Rapids edges Hamilton 4-3

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Carl Corazzini scored the deciding goal in the sixth round of the shootout as the Grand Rapids Griffins earned a 4-3 victory over the Hamilton Bulldogs in American Hockey League action Friday.

Grand Rapids forward Evan McGrath forced an extra round in the shootout by scoring on Hamilton netminder Yann Danis, who had 49 saves in regulation and overtime. Matt D'Agostini missed on the Bulldogs' sixth attempt, setting the stage for Corazzini's heroics.

Corazzini also had Grand Rapids' first shootout goal, while Mattias Ritola scored in the third round for the Griffins (11-13-1-2).

D'Agostini, Corey Locke and Jonathan Ferland scored on the Bulldogs' first three shootout attempts, but Hamilton couldn't put another shot past Grand Rapids goaltender Jimmy Howard. The Bulldogs (8-11-0-4) have lost three straight.

Locke had a pair of goals in regulation while Eric Manlow added a single as Hamilton scored three first-period goals to erase a 2-0 deficit.

Brett Englehardt had a goal and two assists to lead the Griffins, who scored all three of their regulation goals on the power play. Jonathan Ericsson and Kyle Quincey added singles.
