Coyotes forward Francis Lessard suspended three games by NHL

TORONTO - Coyotes forward Francis Lessard was suspended for the first three games of the season Wednesday for his hit on Anaheim's Ryan Donally over the weekend.

The NHL also suspended Lessard for Phoenix's final two pre-season games.

Lessard received a boarding major and a game misconduct for his hit in Friday's game.

The Ducks' Joffrey Lupul scored during the third-period power play following the penalty.
