Coyotes name Penticton's Brad Treliving assistant general manager

"Brad brings a diverse skill set to what we are trying to accomplish here," GM Don Maloney said Wednesday. "His work at the CHL has been excellent and he is a great addition to our front office team."

Treliving, 37, got a multiyear contract. Terms were not divulged.

Treliving co-founded the Western Professional Hockey League in 1996 and served as vice-president and director of hockey operations for five seasons before becoming president of the Central.

As a pro defenceman between 1990 and 1995, he had stints with the IHL's Indianapolis Ice and the AHL's New Haven, Conn., and Prince Edward Island franchises, while skating primarily in the ECHL.
