D'Agostini and Halak lead Bulldogs to 4-2 win over Stars

DES MOINES, Iowa - Matt D'Agostini scored twice and Jaroslav Halak made 34 saves to lead the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 4-2 victory over the Iowa Stars Tuesday in the AHL.

D'Agostini opened the scoring in the first period getting a power-play marker with 1:39 left in the period.

Eric Manlow put Hamilton (27-21-1-5) up 2-0 at 4:40 in the second period and just over a minute later D'Agostini padded the lead with his 16th on season.

Marty Sertich cut the lead to 3-1 for the Stars, but Mathieu Biron put the comeback out of reach with a power-play goal at 8:13 in the third.

B.J. Crombeen scored the other goal for Iowa (26-27-2-2).

Tobias Stephan and Steve Silverthorn combined for 39 saves in net for the Stars.
