Dane Byers scores two goals as Wolf Pack thrash Toronto Marlies 6-1

HARTFORD, Conn. - Dane Byers scored twice as the Hartford Wolf Pack routed the Toronto Marlies 6-1 on Friday in the American Hockey League.

Byers opened the scoring two minutes into the game and netted his eighth of the year on the power play in the second period to make it 4-1.

Jordan Owens, Derek Couture, Mike Hoffman and Corey Potter also scored for Hartford (15-12-4).

Brendan Mikkelson had the lone goal for Toronto (12-11-5).

Joey MacDonald was busy in net for the Marlies, stopping 38 of 44 shots.

Steve Valiquette made 23 saves for the Wolf Pack.
