David Desharnais scores hat trick to lead Hamilton past Grand Rapids 4-3

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - David Desharnais scored a hat trick as the Hamilton Bulldogs beat the Grand Rapids Griffins 4-3 in American Hockey League play Friday.

Desharnais scored twice in the first period and once in the second, while left-winger Tom Pyatt assisted on all three goals. Grant Stevenson also scored for Hamilton (35-14-8). Jan Mursak, Francis Pare and Jeremy Williams each had singles for the Griffins (24-29-3).

Curtis Sanford made 23 saves in net for the Bulldogs, while Daniel Larsson stopped 30 shots.
