David Shantz stops 28 as Abbotsford Heat edges Rochester Americans 3-2

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - David Shantz held off a late rally as the Abbotsford Heat edged the Rochester Americans 3-2 in American Hockey League play Friday.

Cam Cunning, Evan Barlow and Brett Sutter each scored to give the Heat (24-23-8) a 3-0 lead.

Rochester (30-21-2) finally got on the scoreboard at 10:06 of the third when Clay Wilson scored on the power play.

Jamie Johnson scored with a minute left in regulation but couldn't get any more past Shantz, who finished with 28 saves.

Americans goaltender Alexander Salak stopped 14 for the loss.
