Derrick Walser scores shootout winner to lead Marlies over Rampage 2-1

SAN ANTONIO - Derrick Walser scored the decisive goal in shootout to give the Toronto Marlies a 2-1 victory over the San Antonio Rampage on Sunday in the AHL.

Bates Battaglia, who also had the only Toronto goal in regualtion, also scored a shootout marker.

Battaglia put the Marlies up 1-0 at 11:11 in the second for his fifth of the year, but Rampage winger Matt Murley evened it in the first minute of the third period, sending the game to an extra frame.

Despite the loss San Anontio (22-13-2-4) goalie David LeNeveu had an outstanding night, stopping 38 of 39 shots to keep his team in the game.

Scott Clemmensen got the start for Toronto (29-9-0-4), and made 24 saves.
