Devils send Sheldon Brookbank to Anaheim for David McIntyre

NEWARK, N.J. - The New Jersey Devils traded little-used defenceman Sheldon Brookbank to the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night for the rights to Colgate centre David McIntyre.

McIntyre, who will turn 22 on Wednesday, has 13 goals and 17 assists in 26 games with Colgate this season. The six-foot forward has 37 goals and 42 assists in 105 games with the Red Raiders.

The Canadian was picked by Dallas with the 138th overall selection in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. The Stars shipped him and a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2010 to Anaheim in December for centre Brian Sutherby.

Brookbank, who was in his second season with the Devils, had appeared in 15 games without scoring a point.
