Don't hate on Heatley

Matt MacDonald, Big River First Nation, Sask.

I don’t blame Dany Heatley for wanting out of Ottawa. They traded Martin Havlat for basically nothing. They let Zdeno Chara go and kept Wade Redden. They could have traded for a goalie.

I know he wants to play for a team on the verge of winning it all. He could be the final piece of the puzzle to take the Sharks over the top.

Others are bitter about him not going to Edmonton, but he didn’t want to start from scratch.

He’s still one of the best goal scorers, right up there with Alex Ovechkin.

I’m still a Heatley fan.
