Ducks forward Dustin Penner bringing Stanley Cup to Manitoba hometown

Winkler is 135 kilometres southwest of Winnipeg. Anaheim beat Ottawa in five games last spring to win the championship. By tradition, each player on the winning team has a day to do whatever he wishes with the Cup.

A ceremony is planned in Winkler on Saturday afternoon. Penner will be posing for pictures and signing autographs.

"Guys play 15 years to win a Cup and don't even win it, and now you have to start thinking this mentality, 'Now I've got to see how many I can get,"' Penner said. "That's what will keep a professional in this league, just that drive and determination never to be satisfied.

"A ton of great players have been on that Cup more than once, and ... hopefully I can get my name on it more than once as well," he said.
