Edmonton Oilers acquire Glencross from Blue Jackets for Tarnstrom

EDMONTON - The Edmonton Oilers acquired rookie forward Curtis Glencross from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday in exchange defenceman Dick Tarnstrom.

The 25-year-old Glencross had 12 points (6-6) in 36 games with the Blue Jackets this season. The native of Kindersley, Sask., played two games for Anaheim last year before being dealt to Columbus in January 2007.

Tarnstrom had played for the Oilers since January 2006. The 33-year-old has five points (1-4) in 29 games this season.

In 287 career games with the New York Islanders, Pittsburgh and Edmonton, he has 33 goals and 131 points.
