Ferland scores, Valentenko adds two assists as Bulldogs bite Aeros 2-1

HOUSTON - Jonathan Ferland scored in the third period and Pavel Valentenko had two assists as the Hamilton Bulldogs downed the Houston Aeros 2-1 on Sunday in the AHL.

Forward Mathieu Aubin scored his second of the year for Hamilton, whose two goals both came on the power play.

Peter Olvecky counted for Houston with less than two minutes remaining in the game, but the Aeros couldn't tie it and force overtime.

Carey Price stopped 18 of 19 shots in net for the Bulldogs (18-17-1-5), while Nolan Schaefer made 23 saves for Houston, who drop to 22-17-1-2.
