There seems to have been a lot of delight in the mainstream media about a drop in fighting this season, but perhaps that news will simply wake the sleeping bears. Last night, St. Louis tough guy Ryan Reaves and Dylan McIlrath of the New York Rangers went at it with vigor:

Both players are rising through the ranks as fighters and if you watch McIlrath skating to the penalty box, he was more than happy to get in his first tilt of the NHL season. Hockeyfights.com has the scrap as a draw, with a Reaves win coming in second.
