Flames seek more success at home against Wild
Minnesota (17-15-2) at Calgary (20-11-4), 9:00 p.m. EST
CALGARY, Alberta (Ticker) -- Rene Bourque and the Calgary Flames
look to continue their success at home when they host the
Minnesota Wild on Monday.
The Flames are 4-0-3 since a 4-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens
on December 8 and a major reason for their surge has been the
stellar play of Bourque.
A 27-year-old in his first season with Calgary, Bourque recorded
his first career hat trick in Saturday's 6-3 win over the Ottawa
Senators.
He is two goals shy of matching his career high, set as a rookie
with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2005-06.
Calgary is seeking its third consecutive overall victory and has
a good chance of reaching that mark, considering it is 11-4-3 at
home this season.
The Wild have been mired in a dismal slump throughout December.
They are coming off a 4-1 setback against the Chicago Blackhawks
on Sunday, and are 3-8-1 this month.
Minnesota star Marian Gaborik is likely to miss his second
straight game after playing four in a row. The team is slowly
working the two-time All-Star back into the lineup after a lower
body injury sidelined him for 27 games.
