    Phoenix (8-9-1) at Philadelphia (8-6-4) 7:00 p.m. EST

    PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Teams heading in opposite directions

    meet on Saturday when the Philadelphia Flyers host the Phoenix

    Coyotes.

    Jeff Carter scored a pair of goals and Martin Biron made 40

    saves to earn his first shutout of the season as the

    Philadelphia Flyers skated to a 3-0 victory over the Buffalo

    Sabres on Friday.

    Scott Hartnell also tallied and defenseman Andrew Alberts

    extended his assists streak to four games for Philadelphia,

    which has won three in a row and four of five (4-0-1).

    Despite the sudden surge, the Flyers have lost each of their

    last three games against the Coyotes, falling 3-2 in the most

    recent meeting on December 18.

    However, Phoenix fell to 0-3-1 over its last four on Friday,

    suffering a 5-2 setback to the Carolina Hurricanes.

    Kevin Porter and captain Shane Doan scored for the Coyotes, who

    have not scored more than two goals in any game during their

    slide and rank 25th in the NHL, averaging 2.44 goals per game.
