Flyers eye third straight win

Philadelphia (2-3-3) at Atlanta (2-4-2), 7:00 p.m. EDT

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers go for their third

straight win when they visit the Atlanta Thrashers on Tuesday.

Philadelphia was the last team in the league to win a game, but

swept a home-and-home series with the New Jersey Devils last

The Flyers should have a good chance of continuing the momentum

against the Thrashers, whom they have beaten 10 straight times.

Atlanta last defeated Philadelphia on November 18, 2005 when it

recorded a 6-5 overtime triumph.

Offense hasn't been a problem thus far for last season's Eastern

Conference finals runner-up, but the Flyers have surrendered a

conference-worst 34 goals in their eight contests.

Philadelphia's 3.63 goals per game ranks third in the league.

Jeff Carter leads the Flyers with six goals and netted the

game-winner in Philadelphia's 3-2 overtime victory against New

Jersey on Saturday.

Atlanta comes in on a three-game losing streak - all on the road

- with one of the losses coming beyond regulation.

The Thrashers blew an early two-goal lead and dropped a 5-4

decision to the Boston Bruins on Saturday.
