Philadelphia recalled netminder Martin Houle from the AHL Phantoms.
Esche, 28, is 2-4-0 this season with a 5.64 goals-against average and .820 save percentage.
Houle, 21, was 4-4-0 with a 3.91 GAA and .885 save percentage in nine games for the Phantoms this season. He was named the Phantoms' 2005-06 rookie of the year after going 18-18-1 record with a 2.54 GAA and .914 save percentage in 40 games.
