Flyers’ Gostisbehere day-to-day with an upper body injury

The Philly blue liner has a bruised bone in his hand suffered in Saturday's 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars.

The Philadelphia Flyers extended their win streak to nine games with a 1-0 overtime victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday, but did so without the services of blue liner Shayne Gostisbehere.

Prior to puck drop Flyers’ general manager Ron Hextall announced that the defenseman would miss his first game due to an upper body injury and that the 23-year-old was considered to be day-to-day.

According to CSNPhilly.com, Gostisbehere has a bruised bone in his right hand suffered after taking a shot off his hand in Saturday’s 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars. Gostisbehere briefly left the game against the Stars for X-rays, but returned in the third period.

The 5-foot-11, 186 pound Florida native was riding a four-game point streak with four assists, and points in five of his last six contests.

A finalist for the Calder Trophy last season, Gostisbehere as appeared in 95 games for the Flyers over parts of two seasons scoring 21 goals and 62 points.
