Flyers' Jeff Carter, Ian Laperriere skate with team and getting close to return

MONTREAL - Flyers center Jeff Carter is participating in the morning skate for the first time since suffering a broken foot in Game 4 of the first round series against the New Jersey Devils, but it's doubtful he'll play tonight in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final.

Carter was expected to be on crutches for six weeks, but dispensed with them on Sunday, three weeks after the injury and began skating on his own Monday.

Ian Laperriere, who suffered a brain contusion after blocking a shot in Game 5 of the Devils series, has been skating with the team for five days and is also close to returning.
