The Philadelphia Flyers have signed forward Morgan Frost to a two-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $2.1 million.
One of the final remaining RFAs is off the board.
The Philadelphia Flyers took care of some important business on Thursday, agreeing to terms with forward Morgan Frost on a two-year contract extension worth an average annual value of $2.1 million.
The deal ties Frost to Philadelphia through the 2024-25 season and sets him up nicely to cash in on his next contract after a pair of quality seasons once the salary cap is expected to have risen.
Frost took a major step forward for the Flyers in 2022-23, breaking through with 19 goals and 27 assists for 46 points in 81 games, all while logging 16:21 in average nightly ice time and winning a smidge under 46 percent of his draws.
Since the Flyers selected Frost 27th overall in the 2017 NHL draft, he's played in The Show for parts of four seasons and has recorded 158 career games, 26 goals, 43 assists and 69 points.
At just 24 years old, Frost has plenty of room left to grow into a consistent top-six NHLer. And, with the Flyers not expecting to contend this season, he will likely get the role and ice time to allow him to do so, barring any unforeseen complications.
With Frost locked in, every free agent on the Flyers roster is now under contract for the coming season, with training camp just mere weeks away.
