Flyers trying to stay hot in December

Ottawa (12-14-5) at Philadelphia (18-8-7), 7:00 pm EST

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The weather might be cooling down, but

the Philadelphia Flyers have had little to complain about this

December.

The Flyers will hope to continue their dominating month when

they take on the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday.

Philadelphia has posted an impressive 7-1-2 record in December,

but suffered a 3-2 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils on

Sunday. Jeff Carter and Joffrey Lupul had a goal and an assist

apiece for the Flyers, who have played in six one-goal games

this month.

After hosting the Senators, Philadelphia will embark on a

six-game road trip and play 13 of their next 19 contests away

from home.

Ottawa avoided a third straight loss with Saturday's 5-4

overtime victory over the Dallas Stars.

The Senators, who are starting an eight-game road swing, have

lost five of their last seven contests.
