Flyers waive Nedved, Baumgartner, Dimitrakos

If they clear waivers by noon ET Thursday, Nedved and Dimitrakos will be re-assigned to the AHL while Baumgartner will remain with the Flyers.

The Flyers called up winger Stefan Ruzicka, defenceman Alexandre Picard and winger Ben Eager from the AHL Phantoms.

Nedved, 34, had zero points and a minus-7 rating in six games. He's earning US$2.35 million this season and will be an unrestricted free agent July 1.

Baumgartner, 30, had one assist, 21 penalty minutes and an even-rating in six games. He signed a $2.4-million, two-year deal with the Flyers as a free agent this past summer after registering a career-high 34 points (5-29) in 70 games with Vancouver last year.

Dimitrakos, 27, had zero points and a minus-2 rating in only two games. He's earning $675,000 this season, the last year on his deal.

Philadelphia is off to a 1-4-1 start, including a humiliating 9-1 loss at Buffalo on Tuesday night. The Flyers play the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.
