First Hockey Memory: "Skating on the backyard rink with all my brothers and my dad in Thunder Bay, Ont., where I grew up. That's where I learned all the basics of the game, fundamentals. And that's where I fell in love with hockey."

Hockey Inspirations: "That would be my father (Nelson Pyatt) He played professionally for a number of years and I always sort of looked up to him. I wanted to take after him. And I've been fortunate to be able to get to this level and play for a number of years. Yeah, it's been great to live out a dream."

Current Car: "I have a Range Rover."

Favorite Uniforms: "The Chicago Blackhawks."

Greatest Sports Moment: "Getting to the conference finals a few years back with Phoenix. And a number of years ago back with Buffalo, just to be able to get that close to the Stanley Cup was a lot of fun."

Most Painful Moment: "Losing Game 7 against Carolina in the conference finals (in 2006 with Buffalo)."

Last Book Read: "Inferno by Dan Brown."

Most Memorable Goal: "The playoffs, overtime goal (in 2007). I was with Vancouver against Dallas. It was my first time in the playoffs and to score a winner in overtime was a pretty special feeling."

First Famous Player You Met Or Encountered: "Ray Bourque maybe. I was playing as a young guy at a tournament in Minneapolis. And they were playing the old Minnesota North Stars and the Boston Bruins were staying at our hotel and running into Ray Bourque. So that was probably the first big star that I met."

Closest Hockey Friends: "My brother (Tom) plays with Tampa. Marc Staal. Paul Bissonnette, we've been pretty close with. A few guys around the league."

Funniest Players Encountered: "Paul Bissonnette is a funny guy. Brian Boyle. Marc Staal."

Fiercest Competitors Encountered: "Henrik Lundqvist is probably the most intense guy I've played with."

Funny Hockey Memory: "I have an embarrassing moment. The day I got drafted, one of the scouts for the Islanders, he was an older guy and he went up to the podium and he called my dad's name instead of mine."

Why Do You Love Playing Hockey: "Something I always grew up with and always had a passion for it. Love the speed of the game. Just being around the guys in the locker room is probably the most special thing, especially as you get older."

First Job: "Baling hay on the farm."

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: "Chocolate."

Favorite Sport Outside Hockey: "Golf."
