DOB: June 24, 1982 In: Melville, Sask.

First Hockey Memory: "Probably wearing these little gray mittens that I would use as hockey gloves when I was little my first couple years of skating. It was so cold in the rink that I had to wear these little mittens my first two or three years of my hockey career [smiles]. And just playing with my older brother and his friends."

Hockey Inspirations: "Steve Yzerman I looked up to a lot . Brian Propp - he was kind of a family friend, so I watched him wherever he went, Philly, Boston. Steve Yzerman is someone I'm sure a lot of people looked up to."

First Famous Player You Met or Encountered: "Probably Ron Hextall and Rick Tocchet, in Winnipeg. In the hotel, we actually rode in the elevator with them [smiles]. When we were little we used to always go to games in Winnipeg - we lived about five hours away - we'd always go and watch. We liked to stay in the team hotel so we would always get to see the guys and get some autographs and stuff."

Greatest Sports Moment: "Winning two Stanley Cups (with the Los Angeles Kings)."

Most Painful Moment: "Losing Game 7 of the finals to Carolina in '06 (with the Edmonton Oilers)."

Most Memorable Goal: "2012 Stanley Cup playoffs against Vancouver, to eliminate them in the first round."

Fiercest Competitors Encountered: "Aahhh [pauses] . . . Chris Pronger."

Favorite Rinks To Play: "Chicago, Montreal and The Garden."

Funniest Players Encountered: "Matt Greene, Rob Scuderi, Drew Doughty."

Strangest Game: "I think one of the weirdest best games that I've been a part of was the Game 7 against Chicago two years ago, conference finals. We beat them in overtime. It was just an unbelievable game. Double overtime. I think it was 6-5. I think we were down by two twice in the game and we just found ways to keep coming back, lots of scoring chances, lots of goals, lots of great plays. It's always good when you come out on top."

Current Car: "Porsche Cayenne (metallic gray)."

Last Book Read: "The Match - an old school golf story, legendary golf book."

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: "Chocolate chip cookie dough."

Nickname: "Stolly."

Funny Hockey Memory: "The Hanson Brothers came, they were doing a little Hanson Brothers Theme Night, the three of them came on - they actually did a warm-up with us. So they would skate around, do their red line spiel, then they'd end up scrapping . Just how the movie (Slapshot) is, they end up doing that. It was pretty cool. It was weird but funny."

Favorite Sport Outside Hockey: "Golf."

Three Athletes You Like To Watch & Follow: "Retired? (Anybody) Steve Yzerman. Tom Brady. And still Tiger Woods."

Why Do You Love Playing Hockey: "I just love the competition, the competition to win. To be the best. To win the Stanley Cup. Just the camaraderie and the competition."

People Qualities Most Admired: "Sincere, just being sincere. Honest. I think you can tell pretty quickly if someone is fake or not. And just having a great attitude. "
