Gillies scores in fifth round of shootout as Houston shades Hamilton 4-3

HOUSTON - Colton Gillies scored in the fifth round of the shootout to lead the Houston Aeros to a 4-3 win over the Hamilton Bulldogs on Tuesday night in the AHL.

Shooters dominated the tiebreaker format, with seven players scoring goals. Andy Hilbert, Jean-Michel Daoust and Chad Rau converted for the Aeros (6-4-0), while Tom Pyatt, Brock Trotter and Mathieu Darche scoring for the Bulldogs (6-0-3).

Despite the loss, Hamilton remains the only AHL team without a regulation defeat.

Nathan Smith, Robbie Earl and John DiSalvatore had regulation goals for Houston, winner of three straight games.

Pyatt, Yannick Weber and Ryan White replied for Hamilton.

Wade Dubielewicz stopped 28 shots in the victory, while Cedrick Desjardins made 25 saves in defeat.
