Gonchar one of the best in the business

Brian Spence, Northwestern School District

I gave THN the benefit of the doubt when you left Sergei Gonchar off the top 50 player list in the Yearbook. However, the fact he wasn't included in the top 20 defensemen in your latest issue is absolutely criminal!

I realize he only played 25 games last season, but he scored 19 points. In ‘07-08 he finished second in defensemen scoring behind Nicklas Lidstrom. He plays more minutes than any other Penguin and is on for both the power play and penalty kill.

After watching the Pens suffer without him last year it's obvious how important he is to the team. He has a laser of a shot, to boot.

The respect Gonchar deserves is long overdue.
